Abstract

This study aimed to investigate and verify the impact of digital transformation with its core dimensions (technological infrastructure, human resources, and digital organizational culture) on enhancing the administrative performance efficiency of the staff at Dhahran Eye Specialist Hospital. The researcher adopted the descriptive-analytical approach in the study procedures. The study tool (a questionnaire) was applied to a random sample of male and female employees from various job titles (administrators, specialists, technicians, and supervisors). The statistical analysis of the data revealed that the hospital possesses a robust digital infrastructure, which attained the highest relative weight, followed by an organizational culture supportive of innovation, while the human resources dimension ranked third, indicating a general institutional awareness of the importance of digitization. The results also showed that the administrative performance efficiency at the hospital enjoys a high level of approval, reflecting the success of electronic systems in monitoring control and improving productivity. One of the most prominent findings of the study is the existence of a very strong positive correlation between digital transformation and administrative performance efficiency. Despite these positive indicators, the researcher identified a set of field challenges facing employees, the most important of which were the lack of immediate technical support when failures occur, the disparity in technical skills among staff, the difficulty of reconciling heavy administrative requirements with the time allocated for training, in addition to some resistance to changing traditional paper-based patterns. In light of these results, the researcher recommends that the hospital administration develop an intensive training strategy integrated within official working hours to develop employees' skills, enhance on-site technical support teams, work towards achieving comprehensive technical integration, and adopt specialized change management programs to consolidate digital culture among all employees to ensure maximum benefit from technological investments in the hospital.
