Abstract

This study aimed to examine the impact of digital transformation on improving the efficiency of healthcare services in government hospitals, through an applied study on Prince Sultan Military Medical City in Riyadh. The study considered digital transformation as the independent variable, measured through four main dimensions: ease of use of digital systems, speed of electronic service delivery, integration of digital systems across departments, and technical support and training. Healthcare service efficiency was treated as the dependent variable, measured through reducing waiting time, speed of service delivery, accuracy of healthcare services, and smoothness of procedures. The study adopted a descriptive analytical approach and used a questionnaire as the main data collection tool. The sample consisted of patients who benefited from digital healthcare services in the hospital. Data were analyzed using SPSS through several statistical methods, including frequencies, percentages, means, standard deviations, Pearson correlation, and regression analysis. The findings revealed a statistically significant relationship between the dimensions of digital transformation and healthcare service efficiency. Ease of use contributed to reducing waiting time, while the speed of electronic services enhanced the speed of service delivery. In addition, system integration improved service accuracy, and technical support played a key role in enhancing the smoothness of healthcare procedures. The study recommends continuous development of digital systems, strengthening system integration, and providing effective technical support to improve healthcare service efficiency and enhance patient experience.
